Quinta da Taboadella
One of the most iconic properties in the Dão region, Quinta da Taboadella stands out for its rich history, remarkable architecture, and exceptional wines.
In Detail
With roots dating back to the medieval era, Taboadella boasts a rich legacy, including traces of a Roman Villae where an ancient stone winepress reveals the winemaking practices of the past. Since 1255, the property has been home to a prominent rural family, with vineyards surrounded by a diverse forest of pines, oaks, and chestnut trees.
Today, the winery, designed by architect Carlos Castanheira, reflects a commitment to sustainability and harmony with nature. The modern architecture features the Barrel Top Walk, an elevated walkway made of recycled wood, offering a unique perspective over the barrel room and allowing natural light to regulate the ideal environment for wine aging.
With 41 hectares of traditional vineyards, sheltered by mountains and cultivated without irrigation, Taboadella is a true ecological mosaic that integrates forests, olive groves, and vineyards, preserving the region's biodiversity and sustainable practices.
