The Farm and Hotel Rural Madre de Água, is a recent project
(started in 2008) with the opening of the hotel in January 2013 that aims to
revive the arts and traditions of the region.
The Farm and Hotel are set in 60
hectares consisting of vineyard, olive grove, orchard, forest, organic garden
and fields of red fruits. The construction of a cheese dairy, winery and cellar
are part of the project in the short term. Although the wines are recent, some
are already holders of Awards Committee of Dão Wine.
The micro climate where
the farm is located, potency in the atmosphere and soil the ability to obtain
agricultural products and the Bordaleira Serra da Estrela sheep cheese with a
unique terroir where the mountain and sub-region
of Dão are blended.
In Detail
The Hotel has 8 rooms standards (4 twins and 4 doubles), junior suite, suite and Rustic Houses (T0 and T2). For the comfort of their clients the hotel offers a free outdoor swimming pool, private car park (18 spaces) and wireless internet in the hotel unit.
The Restaurant of Hotel Rural Madre de Água, provides a table rich in wine, cheese, cottage cheese, olive oil and other excellent products produced on the farm.
The Farm and Hotel Rural Madre de Água offers its guests / customers the ability to perform massage services and also enjoy guided tours around the farm and learn by observing and participating on the agricultural and farming activities, such as milking, shearing , adjustment of load, defoliation of the vines, harvest, olive picking, cherry picking, harvesting garden produce biological, pruning, etc.
Spending time with animals is also one of the attractions on this farm, which offers to the customers the possibility of enjoying the company of the Serra da Estrela Portuguese dog breed, faithful companion of shepherds, sheep Bordaleira Serra de Estrela, indigenous animals with which their milk is produced the famous cheese serra da Estrela, the mountainous goats, horses and Lusitanian Britons and all the wild animals that roam the farm and give life and dynamic in a day passed in the Farm.
The Restaurant of Quinta e Hotel Rural Madre de Água, offers a kitchen and tableware of the highest quality. The Restaurant of the farm creates a close relationship between the finest local meat producers and meat sausages with what is in the garden and orchards of the farm. Meeting Rooms
The Meeting Rooms, Serra da Estrela is the old mill and ideal location for meetings in an environment of nature and intimate. The living room has seating for about 14 people.
