The Herdade dos Grous belongs to VILA VITA Hotels and is located in the middle of the vineyards, olive groves, cork oaks, and picturesque white villages in the heart of the Alentejo agricultural region. Just 17 ​​Km. (10 mi. 991 yd.) away from Beja (towards Lisbon), in this wonderful natural environment, it is no surprise to find the production of one of the most awarded Portuguese wines.

In Detail

The Herdade can accommodate guests in 24 spacious units, furnished with the unique charm of the regional Alentejo style. In a real mixture between rustic and modern, our guests can choose from twelve double rooms, seven junior suites, and five suites with the most modern services and enjoy the peace and idyllic charm of the property, such as the harmonious view over the waters of the embankment. All the accommodation have their fireplace for a special warmth after an exciting day on the farm.

The Herdade also offers a local Restaurant, where guests can enjoy carefully prepared meals accompanied by quality wines, a Wine Cellar to taste the superb wines of the Herdade or to have a delicious candlelight dinner, and a Store to purchase first-class "vintage” and "cuvees”, olive oil produced traditionally from the variety of olives "Galega" and "Cordovil", like many other products of the Herdade. It also offers two swimming pools, a sauna next to the embankment, and a nice place prepared for lighting a fire safely.

Visitors can also follow the fascinating steps of horse breeding, olive oil production, organic farming, and the development of first-class table wines.

The restaurant has a capacity for 90 people and its terrace offers fabulous panoramic views of the property and vineyards, making it the perfect spot for a delicious dinner with wine tasting or a candlelight dinner.

The Herdade is located between Barragem do Roxo Lagoon and the Natural Park of Guadiana.

Lisbon airport is 180 km. (111 mi.) away and Faro airport 140 km. (86 mi.). The Herdade is nearly 110 km. (68 mi.) away from VILA VITA Parc Resort & Spa.

You can access the Herdade ​​through the A2 motorway that connects Lisbon to the Algarve and take exit number 12 towards Castro Verde / Beja. After passing Albernôa, we advise you to exit on the first road on the left side.

The easiest way to reach the Herdade is by helicopter; exceptional views are guaranteed.
