Go back to the origins of the Portuguese soul and tradition with a glass of Ferreira Port wine. Immerse yourself in the history of Port wine and the Douro region and discover one of its most charismatic and legendary figures – Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira.

In Detail

Founded by a family of winemakers of the Douro region, in 1751, Ferreira possesses a rich tradition and a prominent role in the history of the Port Wine. Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira contributed significantly to the consolidation of the brand. A legendary woman with a unique personality, who became a myth and a symbol of strength, facing the adversities of the Douro of the 19th century.

The history of the brand story is intertwined with the history of the evolution of the Douro Region, its Port wines and table wines. The acquisition of the secular Ferreira in 1987 allowed the Sogrape Company to immediately reach the leadership of the national market of Port wines.

Sogrape Vinhos knew how to respect and increase its heritage, the historical and cultural legacy of the Ferreira brand: the link between production and trade, to understand tradition as a modernity factor, and to focus on quality as the support of the prestige of this brand.

Today, after more than 250 years, Ferreira is "the Portuguese brand ', a reference in Port wines and Douro of excellent quality, a symbol of a country and a culture that it proudly dignifies.
