This is a recent hotel that is the result of a comprehensive rehabilitation of 5 listed buildings converted into a four star superior hotel with a restoration that respects the original architecture.
The rehabilitation project has left visible the medieval and Romanesque remains, and the stone of the original structure of the buildings, as well as the wooden floors, are well integrated in the areas available to the general public. Located in the heart of the historic centre of Porto, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and overlooking the Douro River, the Hotel Carris Porto Ribeira is near the Ribeira square, Palácio da Bolsa and very close to S. Bento railway station and the Alfândega Congress Centre.
The hotel has 90 rooms,10 of which are suites. The rooms are cosy and have a modern décor that blends homogeneously dark and light colours in earthy tones. Some of the rooms have stunning views of the Ribeira and the Douro River. The hotel offers fully equipped rooms with different structures for holding meetings and banquets. It also offers the Forno Velho restaurant, with Show Cooking.
