The Alentejo is one of the most beautiful regions of the country, it requires a long narrative, with a continuous and attentive presence in time and space, something that this overview cannot reveal in full. The region breathes a history immersed in periods of unrest and bonanzas. A land where culture and tradition go hand in hand. There is something deeply reinvigorating and redeemer in the Alentejo landscape, the endless space, in the immensity of the rolling plains with cork trees, the wide sky with an immaculate blue, horizon infinity and obviously in its people, in the quiet people, honest and proud of Alentejo.

This itinerary was designed thinking of those who want to become connoisseurs of wine, gastronomy and all the singularities of the Alentejo region. In a warm and dry environment of terracotta plains, an 8-day tour, you will meet some of the best producers of Portugal, the unique landscapes and the tenacity of its people. This tour was designed and conducted in collaboration with our ambassador Nelson Carvalheiro.

Day 1

Departing from Lisbon towards to the Alentejo region, at about 1hour from the city of Lisbon you will find paradise, L'AND Vineyards Wine Luxury Resort. This is one of the most prestigious accommodations in the Alentejo that combines an excellent gastronomy, wine and accommodation. On this first day you will receive the complete and exclusive treatment L'and Vineyards which has a SPA Caudalie Winetherapy treatment followed by a wine course that allows you to know the art of wine. In the late afternoon we will enjoy a dinner at the restaurant Land Vineyards where you can feel the affirmation of a new gastronomic culture, the responsibility of Chief Michael Laffin. To rest, nothing better than the comfort of a Sky View Suite at the resort which allows you to see the starry sky lying in his bed.

Day 2

Breakfast in the hotel. Enjoy the pool area overlooking the Resort. Departure to Arraiolos Village where we suggest a visit to the interpretive center of Arraiolos Carpets and clay handcrafts of the Aldeia da Terra (Earth Village). After the visit we will discover the Monte da Ravasqueira where you can find a modern wine production inspired by Napa Valley and visit the museum of carriages. Free dinner, we suggest Alpedre Restaurant. Return to Land Vineyards, Wine Luxury Resort.

Day 3

Breakfast in the hotel. Check-out the hotel. Departure for the Adega Mayor, in this Cellar you will visit the winery designed by the famous Siza Vieira architect where lie some of the best wines, with over 100 national and international awards, after the visit you will enjoy a picnic with the best regional products in the company of the best views of the Alentejo plains. Visit the town of Elvas and Forte da Graça (Grace Fort) which is one of the most impressive monuments in Alentejo, considered by many historians as one of the most powerful bulwark fortresses in the world, both are UNESCO World Heritage site. The next stop is the Torre de Palma Wine Hotel, inspired by the lifestyle of Basilii family and the Alentejo traditions, this is a unique space where you will find the comfort of a hotel, a pragmatism of a cellar and the mastery in cuisine. A ride in a horse Lusitano awaits you to stroll through the estate and then a dinner at Basilli Restaurant. Check in at Torre de Palma Wine Hotel.

Day 4

Breakfast in the hotel followed by Check-out. Before moving to the next destination the visit to the Alqueva is one of the highlights of this tour, this is one of the largest artificial lakes in Europe and the landscapes are a great reason to bring your camera. In an Estate of famous wines, we will conduct a visit to the historical heritage of the Esporão which features one of the most curious historic areas of the region and you will make a tasting of 2 wines. Gastronomic menu at Esporão Restaurant. Departure for the Herdade do Sobroso Country House, a visit to the Estate and dinner of traditional cuisine are pure moments from Alentejo, this place breathes authenticity and good wines. Check in at Herdade do Sobroso Country House.

Day 5

Breakfast in the hotel. We suggest a visit to the Amieira Marina in Alqueva and Reguengos de Monsaraz. Return to Herdade do Sobroso Country House.

Day 6

Breakfast in the hotel. Lunch will be at the Malhadinha Nova - Wine & Gourmet, signature cuisine led by Chief Consultant Joachim Koerper [Star Michelan] with the collaboration of the executive Bruno Antunes Chef and cook Vitalina Santos. They propose seasonal menus inspired by the local gastronomy. Jeep visit in New Malhadinha Estate and passage through the cellar where are produced some of the best wines in the country, Monte da Peceguinha 2014 White is one of our recommendations. The wine dinner with Rui Prado the Chef of the company in Grous Herdade closes the day, this is a unique experience and the opportunity to follow up with wines from the famous winemaker Luis Duarte. This is one of the high gastronomic moments in this Tour. Check-in at Herdade dos Grous or Malhadinha Nova Country House & Spa.

Day 7

Breakfast in the hotel. Hotel check-out. Departure to the city of Évora considered World Heritage Site by Unesco. Lunch will be at Degust'AR Restaurant with rich Alentejo gastronomy with the signature of Chef António Nobre. Visit to the city, there are several reasons of interest to be visit freely, the Temple of Diana, the Lóios Church, the Chapel of Bones and the Cathedral are the obligatory sites. Late afternoon you will taste Alentejo cuisine at Divinus Restaurant, located in an old cellar of a convent, a delicious meal prepared by Chef Bouazza Bouhlani. Check in at the Convento do Espinheiro, A Luxury Collection Hotel & SPA, a former convent of the fifteenth century which is filled with sacred art, tiles and frescoed ceiling.

Day 8

Breakfast in the hotel followed by Check-out. Free day. Return to Lisbon.
